BRITNEY'S WEDDING & RECEPTION
Yesterday Britney Chappell was married to her fiance, Chad Lundquist in St. George at The Entrada Resort. For all you HSM fans, it's the same place that they filmed the second movie at. It was pretty cool for the teenagers to be there and see the displays that were around the resort about the cast and movie. Parker even got approached by someone before the wedding and was asked if he was Zach Efron! Funny, huh? Britney looked beautiful, as usual, and everything went off without a hitch.....except for the weather. We had had sunny, beautiful, not too hot days for a long time, and, wouldn't you know it...the day of the wedding and reception, we end up with a huge storm blown in bring rain and COLD wind with it. We were prepared and ready to take action if we needed to......we needed to after all, so after surviving the colder St. George temperatures and wind, we made it back to Logandale to scramble to make it an "indoor" reception instead of what we had planned. Everyone had a great attitude, in fact, we found ourselves laughing many times. By the end of the night, our feet were tired, our bodies were tired, and our beds were calling!
Dad bringing daughter down the isle.
Britney and Chad right after they were married.
Father and son.....looking mighty fine!!
Jordan trying to keep her cool keeping warm!
Paula looked dynamite in her new clothes.
After the ceremony, they set up more tables for the luncheon. Here's Ashley Noto, Tibi, and Michaela getting ready to eat.
Another father and son photo.....Parker had a hard time being civilized! (But he DID have fun!)
I intented to take this photo to send to brother Brockton, who is on a mission in England.....but after focusing on this shot, it might be better off NOT to send it. These guys are nuts!
Ashley and Tibi trying their hands at toasting themselves for looking so good, I guess.
A father's tender speech.....every wedding needs one. We all did whatever it took to not blubber. We didn't do too well.
A group shot of some of us there. This happens to be the "friends" shot. There's Parker again!
Tibi taking off with the flowers after packing up. She loves collecting the leftover flowers with Michaela.
After getting to Logandale for the reception, we set up, it began to rain, we took down, moved around, finally brought the cake inside, and ended up with a pretty good time. The cake was beautiful....fondant and all. The girls thought it was a pretty classic cake.
The lemon bars are getting to Jordan apparently. We all got a little giddy after awhile. (Kasen is not sure how to take her sillyness.)
Tib and Nicole, Nate's wife. Nate is Gregg's younger brother. We all love Nicole.
Nicole thought that Michaela and Tibi were only about 2 years apart in age. She couldn't believe that they were 6 1/2 years apart when I told her. That should make either Michaela or Tibi not too excited!

TALENT SHOW BABES!!
Let me just start by saying that this is one scary post! But it IS almost Halloween. Last Monday night was the annual Moapa Valley Talent Showcase that they do every end of September. The arts council had asked me and Diane Schwartz (left) to put together a number to go with this year;s theme, "Can't Stop the Beat". So we recruited fellow Relief Society president and friend, Joyce Lyon (right) and did a "60's medley" of songs, in character. Right down to the boots and big hoop earrings! Hey...at least we know what to be for Halloween this year. Our medley consisted of "Downtown, These Boots Are Made For Walking, The Chapel of Love, and Lollipop." I have to admit that it was fun and everybody loved us. We got a lot of "cat calls", which would make any 50 year old feel good, right?

Britney's Bridal Shower
Britney Chappell, the daughter of our best friends, is getting married in 2 days! She had her bridal shower last week and got some nice things for her and Chad's place. Britney has been our family's hair stylist for the last 2 years. We are sad to see her go, because we now are not sure who will do our hair! We are excited for her though and wish her sweet and happy times with her hubby-to-be, Chad. We love you Brit!
Tibi was one of the model brides to wear a toilet paper dress...lucky her!?

35 YEARS LATER....
Vicki with Susan Leavitt (Ron Leavitt's wife). The first time Kevin stopped to visit Ron after we were married we discovered that Ron had married a girl that Vicki knew from the same dorm at BYU. We consider them great friends!
35 years later...we still have some hair... albeit grey! Ron Leavitt and Kevin.
Kevin participating in the 'Dixie High' trivia game.

LANDON CAN DIE NOW!
One of Landon's dreams came true while we were in Utah visiting Kira and Michaela. His dad took him to a BYU game in the Lavell Edwards Stadium. He has been to BYU games in the past, but never in the stadium in Provo. He was kept from the secret surprise until we got up there the night before. Michaela had a friend that could get 2 tickets for her, so Landon loves his big sister even more now! The weather was a little warm for Utah, but that didn't stop Landon from having a great time with his dad and the cougar team!
The team heading into the locker room after warming up on the field. Kevin and Landon wanted to get there in time to watch them do their warm-ups.
Two happy boys!
There's nothing like seeing the "Y" around Provo.
BYU won the game, which is always a bonus. I'm sure that just being there was good enough, but Landon likes his teams to win. So does dad. Yay for football!
TIBI'S 1st MATCH
We got back from Utah in time for Tibi to get to her soccer practice at 5 p.m. If she wasn't at practice, she couldn't play in the next day's game. I am not a soccer scholar, but I DO know that she plays forward on the field. She seems to be enjoying it, it is hard work, a lot of running, but she ended up playing in more of the match than she thought she would and did a great job. They played Faith Lutheran from Vegas, which is a school that plays year round and can recruit from other schools, so we got beat our first match by about 8 scores. Tibi's coach told them that they played real good for a first match. Tibi is #18.
Tibi in action. She held her own against these Vegas girls.
I love this shot of her!
Half time break. They drink, eat oranges and grapes to build up their protein, and get a pep talk from their coach. For you Moapa girls, Tayna Houston Holmstead is the coach of the girls squad.
