WE ARE HAVING ANOTHER BABY!!

Every year we end up having baby birds fall out of our big palm trees because of either the wind or their own inability to stay in the nest. I am amazed every year that all of these little birds can even survive the fall. It is a long way down! Well, sure enough we go outside today and find that another little bird has prematurely "flown the coop." This one at least was old enough to have feathers. So, being the bird lover that dad is, he decided to bring it in and nurse it back to health...or at least try to give it some food and water. It drank the water really well, but when it came to giving it food, we weren't sure what to give it. We had one weiner left in the frig (who knows how long THAT'S been there) and Kevin now has a new name. We will from now on be calling him not dad, but Dr. Doolittle. He smashed the weiner up and tried his dangdest to feed that little buckeroo some dinner, without getting bit or nibbled at, but to no avail.....that little bird was hungry! What a trouper dad is. We all have a greater respect for him now. Like Landon said to him, "Dad, you are becoming a mommy!!"

BWAHahahahaha! Dr. Doolittle! Good for you, Dad. I remember when this happened to us in Vegas. Hope this guys lives. He's a lot older than that one was though.

Awe! That's too cute. I'm the same way with animals. Gavin just says that it's nature and that I should just let things be. What does he know?

That is so stinkin cute. I didn't realize that Kevin had such a soft spot for cute fuzzy little birds.

By the way- the title of that post..."We're having another baby" for a split second I thought you were announcing that Connie was prego again. I thought I was going to have to send her a "You have my sympathy" card.

Yeah, I would definitely need some sympathy if I was prego right now. I think I'd just go check myself into an insane asylum.
