For anyone that has ever lived in Logandale, or even BEEN in Logandale, you will be interested to know that the "dip" is gone.....Yes, that Moapa Valley icon has gone to "dip heaven." Like I said, for anyone that has ever lived in Logandale, you will probably be as sad as we are. The dip has always been there, and a big part of OUR lives, at least, as we have lived right down the street from it for years. It has been our route we take whenever we have needed to go to Overton, which is where almost everything is in our valley. Needless to say, we will not miss the times when the dip is closed for months at a time every time we get a major flood through our valley, THAT has always been very annoying and we realize just how useful the dip has been. I guess we can't have it all.....no stoplight yet in town, virtually no crime, community 4th of July and Halloween get-togethers ( I mean the WHOLE community), and small schools where our kids can excel in anything and everything that they want to....so we will give up the dip.

Can't believe it's gone! That was pretty quick!
Wow!!! You're right is was an icon. That is so weird. I know it sounds funny, but I really have some fond memories involving the dip. Sad stuff.
Wow! That is weird. Those who aren't familar with the valley must think we're phsyco for getting upset over a dip in the road.
Hi Vicki,
Funny you should mention "the dip". As I was talking to my mom on the phone today I was looking online at the Moapa Valley Progress and saw the front page about the bridge. The dip wasn't just any ordinary dip it was a landmark for giving directions also! I hear there's alot of upset people about the number of lights though around the new bridge.
I didn't even know they were changing it! Wow, I do have memories of the dip. I think I was in 5th grade on the school bus and probably horsing around, but I was eating a Werther's Original and right when we took the plundge down the dip (when your stomach ends up in your chest) the Werther's slipped down my throat, and sqeezed down with barely enough room. It hurt. I would have choked if it were any bigger because it felt like it stretched it's way down. I have never eaten another Werther's Original but couldn't avoid the dip even if I'd had wanted too! I'll miss it and yeah giving directions via dip will me missed...
